Welcome to the Lesson Plans Page

The lesson plans on this page have been developed by teachers, counselors, and others currently working successfully with therapy dogs in their classrooms, offices, and schools. Clicking on a link will take you to an individual page for that lesson plan.

From this individual page, the lesson plan will be laid out in an easy to follow format, with pictures, if available. At the bottom of each lesson plan is a downloadable PDF of the same lesson plan formatted for easy printing.

The lesson plans are divided into four categories: Head, Heart, Paws, and Tail, each section designed to address a category of teaching subjects.

These plans are meant to inspire. We encourage sharing, adapting, and redesigning them to best meet your needs.

Should you find something that works better, or if these plans inspire the creation of something new, please consider sharing the information with us by clicking the "Submit a Lesson Plan" button in the right-side header above. We will format it for the project, add it to the appropriate category, and credit you.
